By car

From South

Coming from South on BR 101 road, 30 km after the Itamaraju city, turn right at km 769, just after the Atlantic Gas Station (it is recommended to fill up the car tank).

Pass through the Monte Pascoal village and drive approximately 43 km along the dirt road to Caraíva.

From North

Coming from North on (Road) BR 101, at Eunápolis city, take BR 367 road towards Porto Seguro.

Get (road) km 51 on the right towards Trancoso.

At the end of the pavemented road, at the interchange, follow 33 km along the dirt road to Caraíva.

By bus

Departing from Porto Seguro:

Take the ferry boat and cross from Porto Seguro to Arraial d’Ajuda and catch the bus in Arraial.

Ferries leave every half hour.

  • Arraial d’Ajuda / Caraiva: 2h40.

Hours (daily)

  • Arraial d’Ajuda / Caraiva: 7:00 a.m and 3:00 p.m.
  • Caraíva / Arraial d’Ajuda: 6:20 a.m and 4:00 p.m.

During the high season extra buses are available.
